In front of a vibrant crowd of over 47,000 at Strawberry Arena, Sunday’s highly anticipated Allsvenskan derby between AIK and Hammarby ended in a 0-0 draw. Despite several chances from both sides, neither team managed to break the deadlock.

AIK - Hammarby (0-0)

AIK, sitting top of the table ahead of the match, made several changes to their lineup with Filip Benkovic and Victor Andersson starting, while midfield key player Aron Csongvai returned from suspension. Hammarby, in third place, continued to be without striker Jusef Erabi but welcomed back Shaquille Pinas and Tesfaldet Tekie.

AIK looked the more dangerous in the first half, forcing saves from Hammarby keeper Warner Hahn and coming close to an own goal from Pinas. Bersant Celina also had two promising efforts that went wide. Hammarby created their own chances through Paulos Abraham and Abdelrahman Boudah, but failed to capitalize.

In the second half, both teams pushed for a winner. Benkovic and Andersson missed good chances for AIK, while Boudah again came close for Hammarby. AIK’s captain Anton Salétros had two late attempts, one narrowly off-target and the other saved.

The result keeps the title race tight, with Mjällby now having the chance to leapfrog both teams if they win their Monday fixture against Brommapojkarna.

Other results:

Häcken - IFK Värnamo (2-0)

Malmö - Halmstad (3-0)

Östers IF - GAIS (1-1)
